ABOUT PEACE & LOVE

About Peace & Love
Peace & Love was formed as an association in 1999 in connection with the first Peace & Love festival. Initially, we worked to combat violence and racism in Borlänge and Dalarna. This work evolved into creating events with a positive message of diversity, fellowship and understanding. Peace & Love is religiously and politically independent.

More than a Festival
Our vision is to be more than just a regular festival. We see Peace & Love as something much larger and more important than that. We want Peace and Love to be a week-long festival with a forum, and an annual meeting place for people of all ages and of all cultures and nationalities.

Every year, the festival has a theme, 2012 year’s theme is “A New World”. For previous festival themes, see list below.

Peace & Love is also working to create conditions for change and development. We cooperate with various organizations such as Unicef, Greenpeace, WWF and Amnesty. Our aim is to support them financially when possible.

Since 2009, Peace & Love is Sweden’s biggest music festival. In 2011, 50 000 people visited Peace & Love. We also have over 8 000 volunteers who help us every year and without whom the festival would not be possible.

Apart from the festival, Peace & Love also consists of the non-profit organization Peace & Love Foundation, the artist agency Peace & Love Artists and our very own café, Café Peace & Love.
